Who Are These Noisy People? |
In the mid-80's, vocalists Ginny Carr and Robert McBride teamed with other singers and instrumentalists to liven the workaholic world of Washington, D.C. and form an early incarnation of a swinging vocal jazz group. "UPTOWN", became known for their harmonious sound, infectious jazz stylings, and creative vocalese treatments of jazz and big band classics. UPTOWN released its first CD in 1992. Vocalists Roger Reynolds and Lisanne Lyons recently joined the group and helped define the new, fresh sound of Uptown Vocal Jazz Quartet in 1999. A new CD, showcasing original jazz arrangements and compositions, has just been released by Uptown Vocal Jazz Quartet. Listen!
