Since 2007, the Jazz Workshop has been helping musicians of all instruments gain experience in playing jazz with a real group.

We now have eight sessions meeting weekly in Tysons Corner, VA and are currently forming new ones as well.

Paul Pieper, Director
of the Jazz Workshop

The Workshop is a relaxed, friendly environment where people can improve their ability at reading, improvisation, music theory, and the dynamics of group interplay. Students in the Jazz Workshop play with the same group of musicians each week, learning and developing together.

Our focus is on getting students ready to actually go out there and play jazz gigs with a real group - and to that end, we seek out performance opportunities for our students. Our instructor, Paul Pieper, is one of the top jazz musicians in the DC area.

If you're a musician who is studying jazz but doesn't have a regular group to play with, the Workshop may be perfect for you. From beginning to advanced students, we have a group that will match your ability level. Why not give us a try?
