About The Series:
The River Concert Series at St. Mary’s College of Maryland now in its 12th season presents acclaimed symphonic concerts featuring internationally renowned classical and jazz artists. It has been hailed “one of the region’s most prominent outdoor concert series” by the Washington Post.

The Chesapeake Orchestra, the resident ensemble of the River Concert Series, draws musicians from leading artists of the greater Washington-Baltimore area. Music Director Jeffrey Silberschlag’s musical programs have been praised for their creativity and designed to reach the broadest possible audience.

These outdoor, free concerts strive to be family friendly, creating an atmosphere that draws about 5,000 people each week. On July 3, 2009 12,000 people attended Hilary Kole’s most recent performance at the River Concert Series.
